...adica puteti sa va alegeti "palaria"( ha..ha..ha...) puteti pune intre feliile de piine ce va place sau aveti la indemina: ciuperci,spanac,sunca,ardei,etc....
..Strata mea este acuma cu praz, brinza Cedar(Cheddar) si Brie...
Am folosit:
6bucati de praz,numai partea alba*
1/2lingurita cimbru uscat sau dupa gust
sare si piper dupa gust
12felii de piine fara coaja
1cupa** de brinza Cedar(Cheddar) rasa
250g brinza Brie,taiata cubulete***
1lingura mustar Dijon
1lingurita sos de ardei iute dupa gust
6oua
3cupe de lapte gras 10% (half and half)sau smintina de frisca
*numarul de bucati de praz depinde de marimea lor
**1cupa=1cana de 250ml
*** am indepartat "coaja"de pe brinza si apoi am taiat-o bucatele; pentru asta, ca sa va fie mai usor ,puneti brinza in congelator ca sa se intareasca!
Se taie felii subtiri prazul.
Intr-o tigaie se incalzeste uleiul, se pune prazul si se tine cam 5 minute pina se inmoaie.Se adauga cimbrul,sare si piper proaspat macinat.
Se unge cu unt o tava de~23cm x 33cm(9x13inc).Se aseaza un strat cu felii de piine.
Se pune 1/2 din praz, se intinde si se presara cu 1/2 din brinza Cedar rasa si Brie taiata cubulete.
Se pune cel de-al doile strat din felii de piine.Deasupra se pune restul de praz,brinza rasa si cea cubulete.
Se bat ouale cu mustarul si sosul iute.Se adauga laptele(sau smintina)si se amesteca totul pina se omogenizeaza.Se sareaza si se pipereaza dupa gust.
Se toarna amestecul peste piine.
Se acopera cu o folie si se tine la frigider cel putin 1ora sau pina a doua zi.
Se pune in cuptorul preincalzit la 180C si tine 40-50 de minute sau pina e "pufoasa" si frumos rumenita.

Salt and freshly ground pepper

1 cup (250g)grated Cheddar cheese
8 oz (250 g) Brie, chopped
1 tbsp Dijon mustard
1 tsp hot pepper sauce
6 eggs, beaten
3 cups (750 ml) half and half or whipping cream
6 leeks, white part only, sliced
1/2 tsp dried thyme
Salt and freshly ground pepper

Heat oil in skillet on medium heat. Add leeks and sauté
for 5 minutes or until beginning to soften.
Add thyme and season with salt and
pepper to taste. Remove from heat.
Butter a 9 x 13-inch (3 L) baking dish. Layer half of bread slices.

Make a second layer of bread, leeks
and cheeses.
Whisk together mustard, hot pepper sauce, eggs and cream. Season with salt and pepper.

Let sit covered for 1 hour or overnight in
refrigerator.
Preheat oven to 350°F (180°C). Bake for 40 minutes or until puffed and set.
